Chugach Electric Association in Alaska Adopts Cyco AutoManager Meridian to
Increase Efficiency of Engineering Operations |

ATLANTA, GA - June 21, 2004 - Cyco Software, a leading global software company offering Engineering Data Management (EDM) solutions, announced today that Chugach Electric Association has selected Cyco AutoManager Meridian for all its engineering data management needs. The solution provides Chugach with the ability to store all infrastructure data and engineering drawings in one central, secured vault location. The solution was implemented by DataCore Technology, a consulting firm specializing in implementing EDM solutions for organizations in the energy, government, manufacturing, and pharmaceutical industries.
Chugach Electric Association, based in Anchorage, AK, is the largest electric utility in Alaska. Hundreds of miles of transmission lines carry electricity from Chugach's power plants through some of the most wild, inclement and fragile environments in the U.S. to remote communities in southern Alaska. The utility generates its own power and builds and maintains transmission and distribution systems to serve 70,000 customers in and around Anchorage, AK plus three other electrical cooperatives and the city of Seward, AK.
The company decided to implement Cyco AutoManager Meridian to leverage its powerful file management features.Like many utility companies, Chugach's Document Control department provides centralized maintenance of the company's engineering drawings and related data. In Chugach's case, this includes AutoCAD, scanned hardcopies, and hybrid drawings of four power plants, over 50 substations, eight communications sites, and headquarters facilities in eight buildings. On any given day, over 1,000 drawings are in the process of being updated or created for 80+ projects that may last from 6 to 18 months.
Cyco AutoManager Meridian enables Chugach to easily manage separate versions of record drawings for general search and retrieval. With more than just a simple drawing index system, Chugach manages and tracks drawing status from initial conception through design, construction, as-built, and retirement.
