LAS VEGAS, NV – September 13, 2002 – This week, at the 2002 Autodesk One Team Conference, Cyco Software, a global software leader dedicated to providing industry-focused ERP business process integration and CAD productivity solutions, announced the release of AutoManager® TeamWork for the Autodesk Inventor Series. This special version of Cyco’s award-winning workgroup EDM solution incorporates unique capabilities that will facilitate easier and more practical control of Inventor 3D designs, boosting design speed and enabling efficient product lifecycle management.
Cyco’s AutoManager TeamWork for the Inventor Series distinguishes itself with the uncontested combination of seamless, best-of-breed Inventor integration and powerful upgrade capabilities, which are supported by Cyco’s highly trained worldwide service organization. Eric Bouwer, Cyco Software CEO, says, “Thousands of Inventor customers are dealing with the hurdles of parametric design. Cyco’s tailored document management solutions will help these designers to add simplicity to their complex design operations by automatically managing an integral part of their work.”
One of the most important benefits that the Autodesk-Certified AutoManager TeamWork for Inventor brings is that it automatically manages the references between parts, assemblies and drawings. Benefits and features include:
- Up-and-running fast with quick import of Inventor assemblies
AutoManager TeamWork for Inventor has a special assembly import tool that imports current Inventor assemblies and parts into the document management system. This will maintain the links between parts and assemblies as it copies them into the secure document vault.
- Seamless Integration with Inventor’s ‘Create Component’ feature
Whenever a new component is created using this function in Inventor, the link immediately pops up an AutoManager TeamWork window requiring the designer to enter essential information about the new part that is initiated. This part is automatically created within the document management system.
- Save time with Cyco’s revolutionary management of Inventor iParts
The Inventor “iPart Author” tool can be used to create variations from one design. AutoManager TeamWork for Inventor automatically keeps track of the creation of new iParts and records each new variation of a particular iPart. This means that both CAD and non-CAD users can examine in an assembly which variations of the iPart are used and in which assemblies.
- Keep data in sync with the Inventor property link
Quickly exchange AutoManager TeamWork properties to and from Inventor properties, from inside Inventor. These will automatically be updated when opening an Inventor assembly, part or drawing document (.idw) file that includes a titleblock.
- Keep assemblies safe with ‘Replace’ feature
The ‘Replace’ feature in AutoManager TeamWork allows a new revision of a part to be made while keeping the preview revision version online in a retired state. This means that if you modify a part drawing, the change does not automatically update all assemblies that used the part. The older assemblies keep their ‘as built’ status until they are modified at a later date.
- Design process enhancements with support for the ETO document lifecycle
For each document, AutoManager TeamWork for Inventor keeps track in which phase of the life cycle the document is. Documents that are in the design phase can be modified according to a specific workflow process.
- Fast overview with easy display of active & existing assembly structures
AutoManager TeamWork for Inventor quickly shows the status of each part, including active, in progress, and retired parts. Also, complete ‘Assembly Structure’ breakdowns and ‘where-used’ lists for components are available without the need for Inventor to be installed.
- Facilitate Inventor design audits with where-used function
Audit design processes and check the impact of future changes with AutoManager TeamWork for Inventor, which allows designers to see the hierarchy of derived components (intelligent copies). This will help to track the possible impact of e.g. errors in machines that were already delivered to customers in the past. It is an option to graphically track references, parts and derived documents.
If Inventor customers would like to extend their AutoManager TeamWork for Inventor outside their workgroup into the enterprise, or integrate their engineering and product life cycle data with other corporate business systems, then there is the option to upgrade to AutoManager Meridian. This leading software solution is a scalable platform that provides an open API that enables integration with other enterprise packages, such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL and Autodesk’s Streamline collaboration solution.
Cyco Software showcases AutoManager TeamWork for Inventor at the Autodesk One Team Conference (booth 810) in the MGM Grand Exhibition Hall A from September 10-12.
